Private access to the beach at the end of the property is by a set of wooden stairs that leads down to a large rock shelf. Like other south shore beaches on the Island, this is a red sand beach: most of the white sand ones are found on the north side. A variety of similar flat rock shelves provides plenty of space at high tide for napping in the sun, reading and splashing in the water. At low tide, wide swaths of sand bars and shallow pools beckon both young and old alike to build sand castles, enjoy a leisurely stroll, swim in the warmest summer waters north of the Carolinas or capture that unforgettable sunset. With over one thousand miles of shore front on the Island, one is never very far from a beach!
